Year of Tolerance Sculpture
Year of Tolerance Sculpture
A Celebration of the Year of Tolerance
This conceptual sculpture was designed to celebrate the Year of Tolerance in the UAE in the year 2019. Centered around the word "Tasamoh", the Arabic term for "tolerance", the piece transforms a powerful national value into a visual and spatial expression that reflects unity and coexistence.
Flowing Calligraphy as a Design Language
The sculpture features organic, free-flowing Arabic calligraphy that spells "Tasamoh", creating a sense of movement and harmony. The fluid form gives the piece a dynamic presence, allowing the word itself to become a sculptural element that embodies openness and inclusivity.
A Multilingual Expression of Unity
Engraved across the surface are translations of the word "tolerance" in multiple languages, representing the diverse communities that call the UAE home. This layered approach highlights the country’s multicultural fabric, turning the sculpture into a universal message that resonates across cultures and backgrounds.
A Symbol of Coexistence and Cultural Dialogue
More than a sculptural piece, the Tasamoh Sculpture stands as a symbol of coexistence and mutual respect. By combining Arabic calligraphy with global languages, it reflects the spirit of tolerance that defines the UAE, making it a meaningful addition to public and cultural spaces.
