To commemorate the opening of Shimadzu's Middle East office in Dubai, Kashida was commissioned to design two different models of Shimadzu Trophies. The first uses traditional Diwani calligraphy that spells out 'excellence in science', mounted on a solid wooden base. The second integrates a traditional UAE dhow boat along with Arabic calligraphy using the same phrase. Both pieces were presented in a wonderful leather box lined with suede inside.
